At Iranda Beef we aim to achieve the best possible feeding outcomes in a modern efficient feedlot, achieving excellence in all areas of our integrated farming and feedlot operations, whilst being committed to safety, the well-being of our staff and the satisfaction of our suppliers and customers.
We began as a small, family owned and operated feedlot in the early 1990’s, supplying various small butchers and local trade.
In 2005 an upgrade to the feedlot was undertaken with a greenfield site chosen and pens and handling facilities built to handle and feed 3,000 head.
Over the next 10 years the feedlot continued to grow its relationship with Woolworths where it supplied 300 head a week.
With the need for diversification into the export market, a joint venture was formed with Thomas Foods International in 2015. Following this, Iranda has gained EU accreditation allowing us to supply grain fed beef to the EU market. This facilitated a further expansion to the feedlot, taking numbers to 15,000 standard cattle units (SCU). As part of this expansion, a state of the art feedmill was built and the cattle handling facilities duplicated to enable total flexibility in drafting, inducting and trucking cattle.
Iranda Beef currently feeds cattle for a mix of market categories from 70-day domestic through to 200-day export long fed.
Being a major employer in the area, Iranda Beef prides itself on community involvement with the local Border Downs Tintinara Football and Netball Club both being recipients of sponsorship. Over the past few years we have also supplied several hundred head of cattle for local events including the South-East Stockman’s Challenge and the River Murray, Keith and Strathalbyn Campdraft’s, of which our livestock team are keen participants.
